Yesterday…While Waiting For Buses at Various Bronx Bus Stops…

I decide to search for beauty around me instead of bitching and moaning about the terrible MTA service in the Boogie-Down Bronx; and lo and behold I end up capturing unexpected beauty existing in the midst of the chaos, confusion and heaviness of my surroundings.

Who would believe that one could find such perfection at the corner of Waters Place and Eastchester Road!? This perfectly manicured lawn totally diverts my attention from the insufferable heat and humidity. Perfect beauty.

Looking Up Through the Trees – Photo by Toni Roberts

There is no shade at the next bus stop so I venture into the tiny wooded area behind it and look up at the pattern of trees against sky…so intricately woven by the Hands of Mother Nature.

Looking Through The Interwoven Branches Of Sister Trees – Photo by Toni Roberts

Fascinating how the branches of these two trees reach out to intertwine with one another: Sisters bound in love.

Light Descending – Photo by Toni Roberts

Much later on; weary, hungry and very much out-of-sorts, I find myself at yet another bus stop with an unbelieveable forty minute wait for that final bus home. The magnificence of the sunset, however, soothes my jangled nerves and eases my body’s aches and pains.

Is there anything more spectacular than the show Mother Nature puts on each evening?

Who could experience anything other than peace upon beholding this sky?

The splendor of Nature washes away all impatience and bad temper…

A Day With K. In Central Park…

Am taking a day of quiet, solitude and contemplation. Reliving Friday. Spent the day in Central Park with my “sister-friend,” (to borrow V.’s phrase) K. I allowed her to lead me in a walk through the park to places I’d never been which turned out to be a metaphor for my current life lessons…

Central Park, NYC…secret tunnels leading to the unknown…

Like: the repetition of old behaviors is the root of every heartache and disappointment.

Central Park, NYC…off the beaten path…

Am realizing…

my whole life is my creation…

everyone, everything, every event and experience

is Self creating the lessons that “i ” am here to learn…

Self presenting me with mysteries that only “i” can solve…

My life is a Soul-inspired novela

peopled with characters who are mere reflections

of those aspects of  self that I would prefer to not see…

And those 3-D dramas that I find myself caught up in?

Simply denied fears, doubts and conflicts that

I am conveniently projecting outward…

onto the world

Central Park, NYC…hidden corners of paradise…

Central Park, NYC…light…dark…shadows…reflections upon the waters of emotion…

Central Park, NYC…Life keeps on keeping on even when finding Itself between a rock and hard place…

Central Park, NYC…even in entanglement…the pure beauty of nature shines through…

Central Park, NYC…at rest…

Thank you, my dear friend for an enlightening journey

through Central Park

to places

I’ve never been

A Healing Mini-Vacation in Central Park

the hypnotic beauty of water...

I’ve been held house-prisoner for so many weeks this summer by the heat. Can’t take it. Yesterday was not as bad as it had been so I took advantage of being able to once again breathe outdoors, jumped on the express bus to Manhattan and headed to one of my most favorite places in the world: Central Park! Of course, with camera in-hand! Oh, the beauty of a day in Central Park. Made me feel grateful just to be alive and fortunate enough to have access to acres and acres of natural beauty just a bus ride away. It was a mini-vacation. Do enjoy my “vacation” photos!

lunch at the boathouse...

Who needs to pack a bag, jump on plane and travel to distant shores with such peace and beauty as this,  just a bus ride away? I was surprised at how few “inner city” New Yorkers take advantage of the Park.

Even the tunnels are exquisite works of art!

Fifth Avenue skyline...

Looking east above the trees at the Fifth Avenue skyline…the beauty of it takes one’s breath…

the castle...

Belvedere Castle set against the bluest, clearest most beautiful background “painted” by the Master!

Enjoy!
