Read Carefully The Omitted Verses of America’s National Anthem and then “TAKE TO THE KNEE” with Colin Kaepernick!

The Forgotten Verses

While the first verse of “The Star-Spangled Banner” is widely known by the American public, the last three verses are generally omitted in performances. Here are all the four verses, as they were written 200 years ago by Key:

O say can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hail’d at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight
O’er the ramparts we watch’d were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there,
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave

O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream,
’Tis the star-spangled banner—O long may it wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore,
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion
A home and a Country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash’d out their foul footstep’s pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand
Between their lov’d home and the war’s desolation!
Blest with vict’ry and peace may the heav’n rescued land
Praise the power that hath made and preserv’d us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto – “In God is our trust,”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O’ deluded African Americans this nation never was nor is now your home…nor was this song written with you in mind or heart…

On This 911 Day of Prayer And Remembrance of the 2,996, Precious American Lives Lost…Let Us Also Remember…

and pray for the souls of:

♥ the millions of Native Americans…men…women…and children slaughtered in the bloody massacre called the “discovery of America…”

♥ the more than 200,00 men women and children of Nagasaki and Hiroshima evaporated by the only nation in the history of the planet to exterminate human life with the atomic bomb in order to protect “democracy and the free world…”

♥ the millions…too numerable to count of Africans… slaughtered, enslaved, tortured…lynched and otherwise dehumanized…both abroad and on these American shores…upon whose bloodied bodies and wretched souls this “great nation” was built…

♥ the millions upon millions of human lives lost in wars…past and present…wars based on American lies, deceit and subterfuge…wars declared in the name of American greed and America’s unrelenting determination to maintain world domination and global corporate power…no matter what…

♥ the unknown number of heads-of-states…past and present…assassinated by America’s CIA…in order to maintain American global control and dominance…

♥ the thousands of unarmed African American men…women…and yes…children…present and past…some within the illusory safety of their homes…murdered by the American Police Force

♥ the nearly 70,000 African American men…women…and yes…children…now incarcerated in a modern system of state and corporate sponsored slavery…America…now the world leader in the number of its citizens behind bars…

and may we never cease remembering John Kennedy…Martin Luther King…Robert Kennedy…men who would have redirected the course of this nation from its path of evil for the sake of global dominance…to one of peace…love…unity…and brotherhood among all men…

apparently, America has not yet learned anything from the tragedy of 911…

let us all then pray that we open our eyes as one people united against evil…before we are all consumed by FIRE from the West…and FLOODS…from the East…

let us pray that America awakens and repents…

let us pray for the awakening of a National Conscience…and for the beginning of a true adherence to the Basic Principles of Christian Brotherhood and Peace that Americans so blithely mouth but have never followed…or demanded of those men in high places who continue to lie, plunder and murder…in the name POWER and the Almighty Dollar

That is my prayer for America on this Tuesday, September 11, 2018…this day of remembrance…

The Battles Belong to God…

These earthly battles, indeed, belong to to God: that Holy Presence that has taken up residence in my third and fourth CHAKRAS

that Intelligence with which I communicate in these sacred moments

that mysterious Force that draws me here to this holy spot

above my beloved river

today swollen and

windblown

my river…

Mother God waging Battle

for the survival of Her children:

all the two and four-legged creatures

all those who crawl or grow

along the Body of Her

Sister:

Gaia

Rolling waters

hurried along by the wind…

not wise to tarry in danger

and there is much danger

all around…

it comes by air

by water

by sight and sound…

visions of madness upon the land…

humanity gone berserk

lost in the lunacy of

their own imaginings…

killer cruelty ruling the earth…

a million lives taken…

a noble mountain leveled…

all the same…

I watch from my perch

high above the rapidly rolling

river

listening to words of

Truth

that flow from That Which Has Taken Up Residence in my

heart and solar plexus…

and then I know…

all is just as it must be…

and so, I kick back

and I am at peace once more…

in Love

at-one with my world…

I can leave the battles to God…

Remembering 911

rising...rising...

Remembering 911

The telephone rang. It was my daughter-in-law calling from Atlanta, GA.

“What’s happening with you people in New York? Turn on the television,” she screamed before slamming the telephone down in my ear.

What was she talking about!? And why was she waking me up so early in the morning!!

I too, was shocked, dazed, numbed, frightened beyond belief as I turned on the television and watched the twin towers slowly crumble before my unbelieving eyes.

I have done a lot of remembering in the ensuing ten years.

I remember what the bible says: …as ye sow so shall ye reap…vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord…turn the other cheek…

I remember the invasion of the tiny island of Granada by U.S. Forces in violation of international law and our own treaties…

I remember the $43 million plus humanitarian aid given by the U.S. to the Taliban in early 2001…despite common knowledge that they were giving sanctuary to al-Qaeda…

I remember the wholesale slaughter of the Native American peoples during the European conquest of these lands we now claim as our own…

I remember the murders and enslavement of millions of African peoples here in these United States…

I remember the Tuskegee experiments…

I remember Hiroshima and Nagasaki

I remember the hundreds of innocent, unarmed Black and Latino youths harassed, strip-searched and even murdered each year by U.S. Law Enforcement…

I remember that the U.S.A. has the highest documented incarceration rate in the world…

I remember that there was a relationship between the Bush family and the royal Saudi family of whom Bin Laden was a member…

I remember how he, Bin Laden, hid in plain sight for ten years

I remember that long before the illegal post-911, invasion of Iraq—carried out under false pretenses and taking full advantage of post-911 fear—Saddam Hussein was our “friend.” In fact it was U.S. financial and other assistance from the Bush administration that helped build Hussein into the power he became

I remember that an eye for an eye leaves both of us blind

And finally, in all this remembering, I remember that TRUTH lies beneath the surface of what we perceive…

I could go on and on with this remembering but what good does it serve, really? Better, perhaps, I, and the rest of the good people of this nation take a short pause from our smart phones and I Pads and Notebooks and reality shows and addictive shopping (although Bush did advise us to soothe our troubled post-911 hearts with some good old-fashioned American consumerism!) for a bit of self-examination. For it is only through self-examination that we, individually and collectively, gain an inkling of Knowledge and Understanding of who and why we are.

We might also best remember that there is no substitute for self-examination when seeking to understand why and how such a bad thing could happen to such a “good nation.” We might remember that nothing happens—just out of the blue—to anyone. We, indeed, create our own realities and experiences individually and collectively, as a nation. And as Malcolm X so astutely observed—before his mouth was permanently shut—chickens will come home to roost!

No doubt what happened on 911 was an evil deed wrought upon us by evil men. But let us remember also that war and death by mass murder is evil and unjustifiable regardless of who the perpetrator is—we or they.

And so, on this day of re-membering, I send forth a prayer of hope that one day all of us—the family of humanity—will awaken to the reality of our oneness of being and that peace and goodwill will reign on earth forever and ever
