On Overcoming Dis-Ease…

All Boxed-In! – Photographed Washington Square Park, NYC by Toni Roberts

The question I ask my ailments is: What have you come to teach me?

The last time I initiated such a conversation was a few weeks ago when I noticed stiffness, pain and discomfort in my right knee.

Upon being questioned the knee answered:

“Get off your ass and go back to walking a mile a day! And puleeze, try to be more flexible and adaptable with people—and in your acceptance of life in general. You do realize, don’t you, that the world is not made in the image of Toni Roberts!?”

And so…In addition to changing my attitude…I got up off my lazy butt; bundled up against the bitter cold, New York City-wind-chill temperatures in the low 20s; and ventured outdoors. Well…perhaps I haven’t been doing the whole mile each day but I have been doing at least ¼ of a mile before heading to the Stop & Shop for my reward…

And as you would know it, one day recently, while walking against the push of the icy winds, I noticed that the right knee had stopped hurting…

I’ve been using this process of questioning physical and emotional pain or discomfort for a whole lot of years. It has not kept me free from all human ailments. That’s not the point. What I have discovered is that pain…diseases…even cancer…any and all discomforts and imbalances of  mind-body-soul…are the direct result of a disconnect  on our part, with the Energetic Frequency which underlies and maintains the balanced, harmonious, homeostatic equilibrium of the mind-body-spirit collective that we humans call “my body.” In Truth, it is neither “my” body nor “my” life. These “bodies” are manifestations of a Creative Energetic Intelligence that has Its own Mysterious Purpose. (Yeah…I know your Pastor has all the answers!) We humans are Its tools for the accomplishment of that Unknown Purpose. And surprise, surprise! We are not here to serve ourselves but as servants to that which has caused us into being.

When I am consciously in alignment with this Great Mystery of Life I am ageless being and whenever I fall out of alignment through errors of thought, belief or action; my imbalance manifests as dis-harmony and dis-ease of the body, mind or soul.

And when I am in-alignment how glorious and wondrous this existence becomes…and surprisingly without any conscious effort on my part…

Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

On This 911 Day of Prayer And Remembrance of the 2,996, Precious American Lives Lost…Let Us Also Remember…

and pray for the souls of:

♥ the millions of Native Americans…men…women…and children slaughtered in the bloody massacre called the “discovery of America…”

♥ the more than 200,00 men women and children of Nagasaki and Hiroshima evaporated by the only nation in the history of the planet to exterminate human life with the atomic bomb in order to protect “democracy and the free world…”

♥ the millions…too numerable to count of Africans… slaughtered, enslaved, tortured…lynched and otherwise dehumanized…both abroad and on these American shores…upon whose bloodied bodies and wretched souls this “great nation” was built…

♥ the millions upon millions of human lives lost in wars…past and present…wars based on American lies, deceit and subterfuge…wars declared in the name of American greed and America’s unrelenting determination to maintain world domination and global corporate power…no matter what…

♥ the unknown number of heads-of-states…past and present…assassinated by America’s CIA…in order to maintain American global control and dominance…

♥ the thousands of unarmed African American men…women…and yes…children…present and past…some within the illusory safety of their homes…murdered by the American Police Force

♥ the nearly 70,000 African American men…women…and yes…children…now incarcerated in a modern system of state and corporate sponsored slavery…America…now the world leader in the number of its citizens behind bars…

and may we never cease remembering John Kennedy…Martin Luther King…Robert Kennedy…men who would have redirected the course of this nation from its path of evil for the sake of global dominance…to one of peace…love…unity…and brotherhood among all men…

apparently, America has not yet learned anything from the tragedy of 911…

let us all then pray that we open our eyes as one people united against evil…before we are all consumed by FIRE from the West…and FLOODS…from the East…

let us pray that America awakens and repents…

let us pray for the awakening of a National Conscience…and for the beginning of a true adherence to the Basic Principles of Christian Brotherhood and Peace that Americans so blithely mouth but have never followed…or demanded of those men in high places who continue to lie, plunder and murder…in the name POWER and the Almighty Dollar

That is my prayer for America on this Tuesday, September 11, 2018…this day of remembrance…

Remembering The Murders Of Three Great Men…

Golden Sunset – Photo by Toni Roberts

Often in the evening, I sit at my altar before the magnificence of this view to watch the sun as it sets. Last night as I watched the setting sun, I remembered that we were coming up on the anniversary of the murder of Bobby Kennedy on June 5, 1968. Three the good men: Bobby Kennedy, Martin Luther King and President Jack Kennedy all of whom, at a key point in our history, would have most certainly turned the tide of future events (the election of the current President among them). All three of these men were at the verge of bringing real unity to the country in times of great racial upheaval. All three preached a unifying, holistic message. And with the death of the last of these crusaders for peace and equality, the way was made clear for the election of evil (Richard Nixon) into the White House. We have never, as a nation found our way back to the high goals and ideals of these three men. Obama, an African American in a racially divided nation never stood a chance.

And look at who’s leading us now. A hate-filled, hate-spewing, bigoted, sexist, racist, under-educated, blow-hard. The murderous enemies of the Fallen Trinity of Peace and Unification have won. Or so it would appear. Those who pull the “behind-the-scene-strings” have us exactly where they need us to remain: hating one another; racially and religiously divided; and unwilling or unable to listen to each other. Just look at us. Let us take a long, hard look at ourselves. Are we not individually and collectively better than this?

What are We, the People, going to do now? How long will we remain blind sheep following the hatred-spewing messages of those leading us to our own slaughter? And to the death of all that is good and holy and honorable in this nation. How long will we sleep walk as we are led by evil into the death of a nation that still has the potential of serving as a shining example to the rest of the world of a united people. United not by skin color, ethnicity or religion but by our common humanity.  In the final analysis, this is still—although perhaps not for long—a democracy…for, by and of the people.

And so, the next move is up to us, the people. We can still make this nation a shining example of peace, justice, unity and love in memory of three truly great men: President John Kennedy, Prophet Martin Luther King and most the honorable, Senator Bobby Kennedy; the blood of all three sacrificed at the altar of Evil.

Our only remaining powers are: (1) the exercise of our right to VOTE in the next elections (2) to encourage every eighteen-year-old we know to VOTE (3) those of you who are so inclined…run for office in your community. Let us change the face of politics.
